Cultivating Health Ministries

In 2022, our church officially adopted the Cultivating Health Ministries program, making HUMC the first United Methodist Church to participate in this important outreach!  As we did in 2023, HUMC along with St. John’s Lutheran Church will be jointly hosting important health events in 2024. Through our partnership with Cultivating Health Ministries, we will be offering programs to serve and educate our community.

Fall Productive Aging Program 2025 is “a wrap!”

Our Fall Productive Aging program at HUMC wrapped on Halloween after 5 great sessions of Chair Tai Chi and an exploration in healing ministry.  Our final session included a healing service where our seniors joined hands and prayed for healing, both spiritually and physically.  Productive Aging will be back in 2026 for the winter/spring session.  In the meantime, we are gearing up for an intergenerational Advent study that begins November 23rd at 9:15 am.  See our church newsletter for more details!

**Update to 2024 CHANGES TO VILLAGE OF HEBRON SENIOR BUS SERVICES (see below)**

The McHenry County Senior Transportation Grant Board has requested the Village of Hebron, Richmond Township, and McHenry Township join forces to create a Northeastern Transportation District. This partnership will allow us to service Village residents more efficiently and effectively, allowing us to expand our services. This will no longer be a weekly service, but this does mean you can request a ride on an as needed basis. Richmond Township Vehicles (buses/vans/cars) will now be employed for transport, and this service will remain free of charge.

YOU WILL NOW NEED TO CALL TO SCHEDULE RIDE SERVICE.
To schedule your ride, call Diana at 815-678-0077.

**Right now the only service option provided for Hebron is for grocery shopping. Richmond and Hebron are working on providing transportation for other options (doctor’s office, pharmacy, etc). The transportation is for door to door only as the drivers are not medically qualified to assist people into the buildings and from the building back to the transport. If people are unsteady on their feet or require walkers/wheel chairs they need to bring an aide/assistant with them.**

If you have any questions regarding the Village of Hebron or the grant process; please contact your Village Treasurer, Katherine Andrus at 815-648-2353 ex. 12.
