CONTACT TRACING INFORMATION
Answer the call (literally)
As a reminder, if you get a call from 312-777-1999 with the words “IL COVID HELP” on the caller ID, it’s not a scam. The caller is a public health professional contacting you to let you know that you’ve come in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or to follow up with you after you’ve tested positive.
If you tested positive, the tracer will ask questions to determine who you’ve been in close contact with so that they can be informed. The tracer WILL NOT give these people your name, or any other information that could identify you. All information you share with a contact tracer is strictly confidential.
Helping contact tracers do their job is just as important as wearing masks and socially distancing as we fight to rein in the spread of COVID-19. Please answer the call, and if you miss it, call back.
